With its fine-grained calf leather and boot's quarters inspired by men's dress shoes, the combat boot creates a sense of precise elegance and modesty.
Thia men's lace-up boot was handmade in Montegranaro, Italy, by a family-run business where quality and customer proximity are the most important virtues. In total, 60 steps are required to craft a pair of these Goodyear-welted combat boots.
The upper leather is German box calf sourced from the Weinheimer Leder tannery — a tannery that has existed since the 19th century and sources hides exclusively from calves in the Alpine region. Weinheimer Leder is world-renowned for its box calf leather, which is used by luxury shoe brands such as Crockett & Jones and Carmina.
Design Notes
The shaft is high enough that the wearer can easily sit with crossed legs or wear cropped trousers without showing any sock or leg.
The heel is intentionally chosen to be high to make large feet appear slightly shorter and to provide shorter wearers with a little extra height.
The outsole is the perfect balance of form and function. It consists of an ultra-robust Vibram sole with a logger tread to withstand the slipperiest winters. At the same time, the tread is not visible from the side, deliberately avoiding a tractor-tire look.
The cuts and seams are intentionally designed so that the boot consists of only a few large pieces of leather. While this makes the production process more demanding, it results in an expression of style and timelessness.
